Illustrator: Hidden Gems
Illustrator is full of secrets. Join us as we dive deep and explore live paint, transparencies, masking, and shortcuts that will save you time. Also, learn how Adobe Stock gives you the ability to access millions of images, graphics and videos built right into Illustrator and all your favorite Adobe apps. 

Best suited for: Designers & creative professionals. 

What you’ll learn:

  • Production shortcuts to save you time.
  • Tips for creating shapes.
  • How to work with live paint.
  • Working with image trace to create different results.
  • Delve into transparencies and learn how to mask.

Building Your Online Brand: How to Stand Out in a Crowd
As a designer, you produce new concepts, sketches, comps, and final artwork every day. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a simple, painless way to share that work with the rest of the world. Behance is the leading online platform for showcasing and discovering creative work. Learn how easy it is to share work directly from your favorite Creative Cloud apps, build your presence, create an online portfolio, find an audience and get noticed. 

Best suited for: Designers & creative professionals. 

What you’ll learn: 

  • The basics of setting up your Behance profile.
  • Tips for uploading your work in progress and soliciting feedback from your creative circle.
  • How to showcase your work on Behance to get discovered by a larger audience.
  • Find inspiration, network and get new work through the Behance community.
  • Use Adobe Portfolio to create a portfolio website that draws content from the projects you post on Behance.

Saturday, January 28 | 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
You Can Do Creative Work on Mobile Devices! 
If you have an iPhone, Android Device, or iPad, you’re holding a powerful creative tool, right in the palm of your hand. From sketching, to retouching, to creating production ready assets, you’ll soon discover that you can do much more than just take pictures or surf the Web on that device. In this workshop, you’ll see how Adobe mobile apps are part of your creative process, give you more freedom, and get more out of the devices you already have. 

Best suited for: Designers & creative professionals. 

What you’ll learn: 

  • How to turn photos on your device into color themes, custom brushes, vector graphics and looks you use and work with in your projects right on your Apple or Android device.
  • Making use of integrated apps that let you take initial concepts and send them directly to your favorite desktop apps to perfect and refine.
  • Using Creative Cloud Libraries to save, store, and access assets throughout your creative process.
  • How much you can accomplish on a tiny screen.
  • How the Adobe mobile apps leverage CreativeSync so that the work you do on your mobile device is instantly available for you to use in desktop apps like Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • The magic of exploring ideas on a touch screen and do things you would never be able to do with pen and paper.

Saturday, January 28 | 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. 
Designing and Prototyping with Adobe XD
Experience matters. People decide within seconds whether your app or website is useful and engaging. Crafting a great user experience requires more than just visual design. Adobe XD is an app for doing it all - wireframing, visual design, interaction design, prototyping, previewing and sharing. In this session, we will show you how to design and prototype a complete experience using the new Adobe XD. Learn tips and tricks to immediately be more productive creating a great user experience. 

Best suited for: Web and Mobile App designers. 

What you’ll learn: 

  • Crafting a design with Adobe XD.
  • Re-using assets from Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Creating an interactive prototype from your design.
  • Seeing your design in action with Live Preview.
  • Sharing the prototype with others to get feedback.

Chana Messer is a fine artist, graphic designer, trainer, and public speaker. She works independently at her design studio offering creative consulting, technical skills and art direction to businesses. She contributes to the creative community with tutorials, advice and resources through her Adobe User Group, webinars, online venues and industry events. She's taught fine art and digital imaging at UCLA for 30+ years and is an Instructor at the Walt Disney Company. She works as a Photoshop Mentor at USC School of Cinematic Arts and is an Adobe ACA instructor at USC Annenberg School of Journalism. She is an Adobe Certified Expert, Adobe Partner, Adobe Community Professional, Adobe Eduction Leader, a member of the Adobe Freelance Team, and an Adobe User Group Manager.
